BRIAN — OWNER, BDP HANDYMAN

Brian has been working with his hands since he was thirteen years old. Growing up, he learned trades alongside his grandfather — marble, carpentry, framing, fiberglass — the kind of work where you develop an eye before you develop speed. He went on to work as a carpenter and framer in South Jersey while studying architecture. Then he picked up a camera — and used it as an excuse to see the world off the job site, eventually shooting across 27 countries.

That eye followed him into a 15+ year career in commercial photography, shooting for Polo Ralph Lauren, Sephora, and others. That world trains you to see — proportion, texture, how light hits a surface, what looks intentional versus what looks thrown together. He brought all of it back to the work.

Custom wood builds are where that combination shows up most. Brian designs and builds one-off pieces — shelving, built-ins, storage solutions, furniture — made to fit the space, not forced into it. If you've got an awkward corner, an unfinished basement, or an idea you've been sitting on, that's exactly the kind of problem he wants to solve.

He runs BDP Handyman solo. When you reach out, you're talking to him. When he shows up, it's his name on the work. No crew handoffs, no quality drift — just one person with a high standard and a reason to keep it.

BDP Handyman serves homeowners across Essex and Passaic Counties from Montclair, NJ.

Outside of work, Brian is raising his 9-year-old son, working on personal photo projects, or fixing something around the house.
